TMA warns of risks from heavy rainfall

Dar es Salaam – The Tanzania Meteorological Authority (TMA) has forecast a five day climate risk for the city of Dar es Salaam due to heavy rain.

TMA which is under the United Republic of Tanzania Ministry of Works and road Construction in a release on its website said the affected days would be Friday October 4th 2019, Saturday October 5th, 2019. Sunday October 6, 2019, Monday October 7, 2019 and Tuesday October 8th 2019. 

“Given the heavy rain in some areas of the north coast in Dar es Salaam, Coast, Tanga, Zanzibar and Pemba islands with northern region of Morogoro there is a possibility of flooding, transportation delays and damage to infrastructure,” the release from TMA says.

TMA usually releases five day severe weather forecasts on its website.
