Bodies of 3 people buried by landslide recovered in Kisoro

Kisoro, Kampala – Three bodies were recovered being part of the five people who were swept away by landslides in the southwestern Uganda district of Kisoro.

The bodies were recovered on Thursday at Bikokora village, Nteko parish Nyabwishenya in Kisoro district. They had been buried on Wednesday during a heavy afternoon down pour.  However, two of the people were rescued who included Sylvia wife of Stanley Balitonda who was rushed to Nteko health centre and a three months baby daughter to Nyamishana Flora who was rushed to Poters village health facility. The three bodies recovered are of one Ngabirano Richard, aged 17 years who was grazing goats,

Nyiramutuzo Oliver 28 years and Nyamishana Flora, 36 years of Mugambira village being part of the three women who were weeding millet at the time.

Mr. Bahinyiza LC5 councilor for Nyabwishenya Sub County said they are still hunting for the dead bodies of the remaining two people.
