The IGAD Climate Prediction and Applications Centre (ICPAC) in collaboration with partners are jointly organizing the Fifty-Ninth Greater Horn of Africa Climate Outlook Forum (GHACOF 59) for the October to December (OND) 2021 season to be held virtually on 26 August 2021.

“As a regional Climate Center, the IGAD Climate Prediction and Applications Centre (ICPAC) organizes three times a year a Climate Outlook Forum to release the seasonal forecast and co-produce mitigation measures.” says ICPAC website
The virtual forum will bring together climate scientists, researchers, users from key socio-economic sectors, governmental and non-governmental organizations, development partners, decision-makers, and civil society stakeholders among others. The forum will be preceded by an online climate prediction development workshop for the climate experts from the participating National Meteorological and Hydrological Services (NMHSs) from 16 to 20 August 2021 and co-production workshops with keys sectors from 24 to 25 August 2021.
According to ICPAC to be part of the conversation and a growing community working on Climate Services register for the next Greater Horn of Africa Climate Outlook Forum (GHACOF) and participate in the sectoral conversations that will take olace across the event in the following sectors;
- Agriculture and Food Security
- Forests and Environment
- Livestock and Rangelands
- Water and Energy
- Conflict Early Warning
- Disaster Risk Management
- Climate Change
